TARS: The Tieplayer rating.

In a world dominated by smartphones and digital platforms, App Development has become the backbone of modern business. Whether you're launching a new startup or optimizing internal operations, having a well-built app can give you a competitive edge

But what exactly is TARS – the Tieplayer rating system?

TARS is the Tieplayer rating – integrated into the app – that assesses your playing level based on the results you record. It's calculated automatically whenever a game is validated and is also personalized by game mode. That is, if you play two or three, you'll have independent ratings for each.

Each sport has different dynamics. A 16.0 in tennis may not correspond to a 16.0 in padel and vice versa. By separating the ratings, Tieplayer ensures greater accuracy, fairness, and relevance.

How is TARS calculated?

You start with a base rating. With each validated game, TARS adjusts itself according to the result (win or loss), the level differences between the players, previous games, and the boost (which we will explain later).

The more you play, the more reliable your TARS becomes. It's a kind of digital sports resume that evolves with you.

Why is TARS so important?

Without TARS, games are random. With this Tieplayer rating, you have a system that organizes, balances, and elevates the gaming experience for players, clubs, and coaches.

It acts as a link between players of the same skill level, helps clubs organize balanced tournaments, and allows each player to objectively monitor their progress. TARS is what gives the system its intelligence. Without it, it would just be another app for scheduling random matches.

TARS in action: 4 features where it plays a leading role in the player's daily life.

1. Matchmaker: Find opponents of your skill level.

With Matchmaker, you can search for opposing pairs with a Tieplayer rating similar to yours, in the game mode you choose. It's sports matchmaking based on real data — no drawing, no imbalances, and no surprises.

2. Open games with TARS filter

Create an open game for Wednesday at 7:00 PM, but define who can join. Using the Tieplayer rating filter, only players within the level you define—and within the corresponding game mode—will be allowed to participate.

  • Want a more competitive game? Set a high entry value.

  • Looking for something more relaxed? Open it up to players with lower stakes.

This ensures balanced and more enjoyable games — without those last-minute surprises with players who are far above (or below) expectations.

3. Boosts: Give your Tieplayer rating a boost.

You know those days when you're confident, playing well, and ready to put on a show? Or that game you know will be difficult, but you want to play freely? Those are the perfect days to activate boosts with a paid pack that gives you two advantages:

  • If you win, TARS will rise faster;

  • If you lose, TARS won't go down.

It's a strategic power-up that helps you accelerate your progress or protect your rating in higher-risk games.

Tip: Use boosts when you're facing tough pairs or when you feel you're in good form. It's not cheating — it's smart management of your progress.

4. Game validation: without this, there is no updated rating.

This part is crucial. The TARS only changes if you validate the results of your games. After each match scheduled in the app and played, one of the players registers the result, the others confirm, and the system automatically updates everyone's Tieplayer rating.

Without validation, the game doesn't count. And by doing so, you're missing opportunities to improve, to appear in games at your level, and to help the ecosystem function. Even if you lose, validate: The fairness of the rating depends on it.

Why use TARS?

It's automatic, you don't need to do any calculations.

It's fair, adjusted to your performance.

It's useful for finding partners and challenging yourself.

It's a community because it connects you to thousands of players.
